Position Overview

This Senior Manager, Advertising is responsible for defining the strategy for growing revenue across multiple channels, including programmatic and direct display as well as generating new business ideas. The position combines elements of strategy, business development, product marketing and client management.

This role will be a critical in working cross-functionally with sales, product, tech and operations to help define the advertising business goals, value proposition and new product ideation. Along with this, there will be a need to apply business acumen for modeling and promoting new ideas within the organization, working closely with the VP of Advertising.

In addition to new business, this role will be responsible for managing the business relationship with programmatic partners and will work closely with analytics and business intelligence to set the programmatic strategy and grow site yield.

This is a high impact role with the opportunity to impact the business.

Essential Job Functions

  • Ability to set long term strategic plans for monetization of
  • Critical thinking and the ability to translate that into easily understood goals with benchmarking and measurement.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with product, technology, marketing and within the team to clearly articulate goals and strategy.
  • Provide analysis and direction for strategic partnerships in programmatic and operate as the business contact to drive revenue growth.  
  • Collaborate on strategy, functionality and value proposition for advertising product development.

Professional Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years of digital publisher, agency or relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrate a track record of growing and owning business programs.
  • Familiarity with real-time-bidding, advertising exchanges and publisher yield management tools a plus.
  • Comfort with data analysis, modeling and ability to make recommendations based on results.


  • BA or BS. MBA preferred.
    • Concentrations in economics, entrepreneurship, e-business, marketing or strategy.
