Data Specialist

We have a diverse and talented team of employees who come to us from many kinds of backgrounds.  We have an immediate need for a Data Specialist for our new Downtown Chicago office that will report to our Director of Special Ops & Data Quality.

The Data Specialist is a member of the Special Operations team.  Spec Ops is a small team that refines existing processes and supports new products and initiatives. The team collaborates heavily with other departments to plan, prepare, and execute data-related tasks. In this role you will utilize various utilities, databases, and online programs to discover, capture, clean, enrich, and validate data related to funeral homes or obituary content. This team is expected to execute quickly and operates as a well-functioning system. Successful candidates possess a strong sense of ownership over their workload, are adept at communicating and committed to teamwork.  


  • Research, capture data from third party websites. 
  • Audit data on a regular basis to ensure data quality.  
  • Troubleshoot data quality issues. 
  • Generate reports, maintain accurate spreadsheets. 
  • Create and maintain systems to keep work streamlined and up to date. 
  • Assists in a variety of scheduled and unscheduled tasks at any given time. 


  • Competency using the Internet, Salesforce, Windows, Microsoft products (Excel, Teams, etc.) and databases. 
  • Ability to master and retain information about workflows and processing anomalies. 
  • Ability to work independently with strong organization and time management skills. 
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and critical thinking ability. 
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively.
